A reply to Pusta Krishna

Paul Dossick Please pass this on to HH Bhakti VIkas Maharaja. What you are stating is fully true. The path to that truth is reached not by our own proclaiming of the true path os suddha bhakti, but rather by adhering to the Parampara, the path of the Mahajanas and our Guruvarga. Lord Chaitanya gave the prescription (na dhanam na janam na sundarim, etc. This is the path of bhakti. When there are deviations, then it is for the witches that have tempted the imperfect preacher of Krishna consciousness. Whether it is due to mayavad inclination, or material enhancement, there is contamination of the pure process. Krishna is certainly sufficient, and love of Krishna is the param gati
it is declared and known.
Ultimately, the desire for unity at any cost is not leadership reflected in the Parampara. And, we know that the path is realized by the few (manusyanama sahasresu...). The splintering of ISKCON has already occurred and will continue since anything goes is the accepted idea of the day. There will be scapegoats, like Harivilas and Hridayananda Maharaja, rather than more influential and popular persons like Radhanath M. Nonetheless, who can you truly call your god brother or god sister when such alterations are made in the name of promoting Krishna consciousness? And, if the goal is to make one content in dry stool rather than wet stool, the goal of transferring back to Home, back to Godhead, is missed.
These are frustrating realities, and they are practiced widely within ISKCON now to greater or lesser degrees. The details are painful in that in each case one sees rejection of the program of Srila Prabhupada, for the sake of mere following, wealth, etc. You will not be able to halt that tide, I can predict without much doubt. None will take guidance because each is thinking they are themselves the guide. Srila Prabhupada proclaimed "you cannot be your own guru!"
That applies to one and all. Self-promotion as a guru or world teacher will not reach to the heart of Krishna, but perhaps to some svargaloka where good deeds can be neutralized for yet another try in some distant future.
Follow in the footsteps of the go swamis of Vrindaban, designated by Lord Chaitanya to give the true path of bhakti. Pusta Krishna das

About becoming a real guru in iskcon not a modern guru like Hridayanand Goswami we must listen to the Acharya, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarsawati, that is to say the following words from BSSaraswati apply to few real iskcon gurus among the 77 designated ones.

"My gurudeva has heard this instruction from his gurudeva. And it is for this reason that my gurudeva accepted even such a great sinner as I and told me, “On my order, become a guru and save this land.” Only those who have never heard these words of Śrī Gaurasundara say, “How bizarre to listen to one's own praise!” In their opinion, while the guru is instructing the disciple in the Eleventh Canto of Bhāgavatam, he is perpetuating a major sin. What is the ācārya to do when he has to explain the verse ācāryaṁ māṁ vijānīyāt, “Never disregard the ācārya or consider him your equal in any sense”?2 These are the words of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Himself, whereby the jīva is to be benefited. Is the guru to desert his seat, the seat of the ācārya, from which these words are to be explained? That office was conferred on him by his gurudeva. If he does not act up to its requirements, he is doomed to perdition for his offense against the holy name in the shape of disrespect toward the guru. He must execute his duty notwithstanding such behavior being open to the charge of egoism. When the guru imparts the mantra to his disciple, should he not tell him to worship the guru by that mantra? Should he instead say, “Give the guru a few strokes of the shoe or horsewhip”? “The guru is never to be decried. The guru is the abode of all the gods”3—while reading from the Bhāgavatam to his disciple should the guru abstain from communicating these words to him? “Only to him who possesses guileless spiritual devotion to the guru, similar to that offered to Kṛṣṇa Himself, are the holy mysteries manifested”—is the guru not to tell these things to his disciples?4 Ādau guru-pūjā: “The worship of the guru has precedence over all others; the guru is to be served just as Kṛṣṇa is served; the guru is to be worshiped in a particular way”—is the guru to desert his seat without telling all these things to the disciple?5 In the angle there is always the defect in the shape of absence of fullness, the evenness of level, of 180 degrees less than 360 degrees. But in the plain surface, in 360 degrees, there is no such defect.* Ordinary foolish people fail to grasp the simple truth that in the emancipated state no defect is possible. As the saying goes, “Having begun the dance it is no use to draw the veil.”* I am doing the duty of guru, yet if I preach that no one should shout jaya! to me—that is, if I merely say in a roundabout way, “Sing jaya! to me”—it would be nothing short of duplicity. Our gurudeva has not taught us such insincerity. Neither has Mahāprabhu taught such insincerity. I must serve Bhagavān in a straightforward manner."
"These are frustrating realities" --- yea practically speaking everyone gets frustrated a bit, at least. But if we keep our selves on the brahminical platform we don't get frustrated, that is why those less then Brahmanas should not really get into iskcon's revolutions as it will negatively affect their mind and has caused for devotees to lose focus from their regular bhajan kriya. That's why we recommend a good sadhana and then all the "smashing" afterwards.

"Nonetheless, who can you truly call your god brother or god sister when such alterations are made in the name of promoting Krishna consciousness?" --- There is a lot of good association in iskcon, even in these dark inauspicious times of the 21st century. Take for example Bhatki Raghava Maharaj, Danavir Maharaj, Bhakti Vidya Purna Maharaj, Basu Ghosh Prabhu et al, they are perfectly sober godbrothers of BVKS Maharaj and are perfect leaders.

Iskcon's liberals like Malati Mata, Prasanta Mata, Urmila Mata, Bir Krishna G, Mahatma Das, Kalakanta Das, Ravindra Svarupa Das, Sesa Das, Anuttama Das etc are truly deviated from Prabhupada, so let us try to educate the innocent members about their deviations and let us focus on hearing and chanting at the same time vide CC Antya 3.149

For two purposes — to spread the cult of bhakti and to defeat and subdue the atheists — Lord Nityānanda, the most dedicated devotee of the Lord, moved throughout the country.

"You will not be able to halt that tide, I can predict without much doubt." Well it is our duty to save our Acharya's movement and we must do our duty without any expectation. This is why i made this website iskcontheology.blogspot.com i had no great ambition to change iskcon but I knew that I must do my part whether someone likes it or not, whether someone changes himself or not. And I shall continue to do my part to save iskcon without giving up, no matter how big the tsunami gets.

"Whether it is due to mayavad inclination, or material enhancement, there is contamination of the pure process." --- yes there is a lot of contamination in iskcon but I see that there is a lot of good as well in Bhakti Raghav Maharaj or Bhakti Vikas Maharaj, I find no mayavad or material inclination in them. So it is not a 100% evil organization, there is a lot of good, we have to just find it and have faith.

"And, if the goal is to make one content in dry stool rather than wet stool, the goal of transferring back to Home, back to Godhead, is missed." ---Yes, we should never make any compromise, as far as an uncompromising pursuance of the siddhanta is concerned Bhakti Vikas Maharaj or Bhakti Raghava Maharaj are very much perfect. Whereas Sivaram Swami likes to empower women and sits for Jhanavi Harrison's kirtans etc and at the same time he is against addressing women by the word 'prabhu' and the lunacies of Hridayananda Maharaj, so Sivaram Swami is not fully free from philosophical deviations.

"None will take guidance because each is thinking they are themselves the guide." ---Yes they are bad, so now we must educate the innocent iskcon members of the reality of those certain arrogant leaders (a few names were mentioned above) who think that their own sweet will is the siddhanta, not with the purpose of hate born of personal agendas, no, rather with a sense of charity towards the innocent iskcon members so that they are not cheated by those who make a show of bhakti.

SB 8.9.28, Purport
'There are many karmīs in the dress of devotees, but the Supreme Personality of Godhead can detect their purpose. The karmīs want to use the property of the Lord for their selfish sense gratification, but a devotee endeavors to use the Lord's property for God's service. Therefore a devotee is always distinct from the karmīs, although the karmīs may dress like devotees'
