+Manikar Das Brahmachari I I respect the opinion of BVPS and no doubt it will be a serious practitioner of Krishna consciousness and a sincere follower of Srila Prabhupada, and also what your are a serious and sincere devotee. In one occasion Srila Prabhupada asked that as you can identify a Vaishnava, and Prabhupada replied that "identifies that behaves like a gentleman" like gentlemen (without criticizing or offending) I think we can discuss any topic right through the vision of the acharyas and Sastra. for this I leave this first quote Bhaktivinoda Thakhur and his son Srila Saraswati Thakur Bhaktisidantta“The word Vaishnavism’ indicates the…eternal and natural condition…of all individualsouls in relation to Vishnu, the Supreme, the All-pervading Soul. But an unnatural, unpleasant and regrettable sense has been attributed to the word, making one understand by the word Vaishnava (literally a pure and selfless worshipper of Vishnu) a human form with twelve peculiar signs (Tilak) and dress on…and [then] hating any other human form who marks himself with different signs, puts on a different dress and worships…in a different way… This is the most unnatural, unpleasant and regrettable sense of the word ‘Vaishnava.’…” [Bhaktivinoda Ṭhakura and Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhakura from their book Vaishnavism and Nam-Bhajan] read for yourself and draw your conclusions but it seems pretty clear that it is "unnatural unpleasant and regrettable sense of the word ‘Vaishnava.’…” also Srila Prabhupada says very clearly agree to adapt to time place and circumstance :purport to ŚBh 1.9.9, Prabhupada writes: “Expert religionists know perfectly well how to adjust religious principles in terms of time and place. All the great ācāryas or religious preachers or reformers of the world executed their mission by adjustment of religious principles in terms of time and place. There are different climates and situations in different parts of the world, and if one has to discharge his duties to preach the message of the Lord, he must be expert in adjusting things in terms of the time and place.” once again, read and draw your own conclusions. for example in this video BVPS say: "if you do something different there is no change, no revolution" talking about the acharyas are always done the same. but Prabhupada says "he must be expert in adjusting things in terms of the time and place.” and if you look at the history of the acharyas of course they adapted to the time and place of corse respecting the essence. studying the life of Bhaktisidanta of course he adapted things Bhaktivinod also did, and in the history of the beginnings of ISKCON Prabhupada also did. only conclude I leave this appointment: “Jyotirmayi: No, no. You have made a very serious error in understanding BVPS's words and have understood them to be his 'private thoughts'. They are not. So major doubts are to be cast up you when u use the word "shastra". if u understand shashtra then how did u miss that BVPS was quoting shastra? 2. do hear this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dybeuFLEkn8 3. BVPS: we are not big enough to play with it [religion]. we have no right to play with it. esp. the modern academy has no right to play with it. Though they love to play with everything that is the key term. they love to play 4. Our spiritual science is Gaudiya Vaishnavism. But the substratum that supports this science is religion. This also comes from Krishna. It is not something that is openfor speculation. If you speculate on the attire, food, lifestyle of the devotee it is open for everyone. Live by speculation, die by speculation. Live by the sword die by the sword.5. HDG says that dhotis have been taken from Muslim rulers of India. Hence they are not spiritual. Thus establishing that dhotis are a material speculation of Prabhupada. This being so the culture can be changed to fit whatever is the preference of the individual devotee. Hence there is no fixed attire or any other expression of culture... This is atheistic since it does not have Krishna as it’s source. If you basea philosophy without religion it will change. "once again, read and draw your own conclusions" this is the issue. u cannot make speculative conclusion even on the culture as HDG is doing.
