Urmila Devi is not working for Prabhupada. She is working for her mano ratha, the meanderings of her mental speculations.
The woman says that she is a vanaprasta but in Indian culture women don't go and lecture all over the place.
She is a full Yavana with urdhva pundrak smeared on her face. That is all. It fools only the most naïve of our iskcon members.
Yes all women must feel appreciated by their husbands not the husbands of other women.
If there is a woman who regularly wants to take to the stage and seeks some validation and some praise from men she is called a prostitute. Vedic culture may be unknown to the Yavanas but few people still remain alive on Vasundhara (earth) who know it.
So don't think that vedic culture is dead.
Rather the Yavanas and their prostitute-making theories will be dead.
A woman will be happy if she is subservient to a man. And a man will take full responsibility of her if she has service attitude. But who will care for prostitutes?
Prostitutes will remain like that. Arrogant and puffed up.
And soon they will band together and seek shelter in a husbandless world by making a Vaishnavi/Women's ministry or two.
And if some one wants to be a prostitute that is ok for us.
Why does she have to preach the theory of prostitution?
This preaching of prostitution is what we are against.
Some mata wants to be a prostitute in her own house in Alachua, etc who cares!! But when the matas take to the pulpits we have to take some action.
Indeed we have a low opinion of prostitutes but we have the highest opinion of our vaishnavi mothers.
Brahmacharis are Brahmacharis because they respect vaishnavis and because they kick in the face of worthless putanas like the ones who are against Women Mothers Masters book namely Mahadevi dasi, Malati Dasi, daiva shakti Dasi, Mrs. Vrinda Setha et al.
Vaishnavis are vaishnavis. Putanas are putanas.
It's very simple.
1. A husband being insensitive to his wife is sinful since it is against the laws of the universe as instituted by the Lord. It is totally unacceptable. Granted.
E.g. leader mata malati's husband left her. So now iskcon should make her a gbc to make her happy. Is that iskcon's fault? For Sarawati's sake I hope that this link of logic is not being applied here.
2. "When women are treated like putanas, they will behave like putanas" Hope this argument suffices in front of a judge in the court of law as well? The most childish argument i have heard. So the husband broke a law of the universe by being insensitive to the wife. This gives the wife the freedom to be a prostitute? Is that your reasoning?
3. "I say men need to learn how to value woman" this argument is sustained. The guru/senior person should take some action against insensitive husbands. Accepted.
4. "and women will stop fighting for control." -Now, basically to validate the 'putana' monster like behavior of women just because they were mistreated is a great departure from not only the siddhanta but also common sense.
5. There is always a certain small percentage of women and men who will behave like yavanas no matter how kind the spouse is. But the scriptures and the gurus will always empower some humble souls to fight these wayward demons and demonesses of Iskcon.
That is a fact Malati devi, Laxmimoni devi took the positions of leadership because of some yavana mentality gbc men.
2. If our gbc men were not emotionally assailable and unwise we would not have this prostitution/feminism problem we are dealing with not only in our gbc zones or temples but also on the internet.
3. Malati, Laxmimoni Devis et al wanted protection in their old age but the men cheated them, us and themselves by making them leaders.
4. The feminine roles are not decided by the whims and fancies of some rascal PhD in educational leadership, rascal PhD in Indo-Vedic psychology, rascal PhD in Sanskrit & Indian studies or a rascal M.St. degree in religion from Oxford. (if you know the "Senior Vaishnavas" who is so speak of here)
5. The feminine and masculine body's roles or duties are decided by Krishna and thus they are instituted in the universe.
6. If you are a feminist/egalitarian it means that you are going against the universe's law. You are an atheist.
7. So how do we justify the women's demands for leadership positions? Women are less intelligent. Tomorrow they will ask for the moon? So the leadership viz. their godbrothers should give them the moon?
Yours wives will ask for poison...will you give that to them?
What is the lesson that we learn from Siva-Sati pastime?
Siva spoke the siddhanta to his wife and did not fear that she will reject him later on in his sense gratification.
This is what is known being a Guru-pati. When the wife makes the mistake of going on the unchaste path* it is the husband's duty to stop her with words and actions sensitive to her specific nature.
One of modern-Iskcon's many amusing ironies is that men of the renounced order of life have to tell married people how to do things.
But before that the husband must understand a few things.
An understanding of these 7 points will help you in being sensitive. Sensitive means to know the basic nature of the person and the nature of the person at the instance of time that you deal with that person. So a soul is the combination of these two natures. To speak with the wife or husband with the understanding of these two natures is called being sensitive.
Unchaste path: This phrase is 21st century iskcon euphemism for prostitution but immature persons also read these posts so I am forced to use some colorful terms.
Do note that 'Devi' is the Indian vernacular name for a bird found in India, from what I have read it is the Nisaetus cirrhatus. Basically it is an animal. So devi is an animal, who does not have human tendencies, human as defined by the scriptures and not as defined by the biologists. So devi means an animal lacking in human tendencies.
