Mrs Vrinda Setha The Feminist Public Dancer

If someone wants to make his wife dance in public and make money off that. I mostly have no business in that. But when the dancing goes on the internet and makes an active effort to support vedanindaka like Mahadevi Mata in her efforts to stop the WMM book. I have to make it my business. https://www.facebook.com/mahadevi.dasi.5 then I have to explain to people what is the character of the dancing girl and or the value of her opinions.

1. "The classical singing and dancing is still very very respectful in India" Indeed so. it must be encouraged. preserved and cultivated .BUT in the right arena or in the right environment.
2. "Dancing and singing in front of public is not only meant for prostitute. "- "public" this word should mean female audience.
3. preksanam- to look at. So, to look a woman's body by a man is forbidden. How is a man to even watch a woman dancing?
smaranam kirtanam kelih
preksanam guhyabhasanam
sankalpo `dhyavasayas ca
kriya-nirvrttir eva ca
4. So this is fundamentally flawed. The option left for a man is to go to a mata-dancing concert and close his eyes. That is absurd. So why go in the first place?
5. "still they are getting full respect" respect from persons who are unaware of the scriptural jurisdictions of illicit sex.
6. "Classical singing and dancing is not a Bollywood singing and dancing" yes, it is a milder form of sex life. It may not be grotesque and fully erotic to blast the senses but it is illicit none the less. Something like doing illicit activity with a saree wearing, tilak wearing prostitute and putting on Bhimsen Joshi's raga bhairavi in the back ground. Sounds very vedic, very cultural but the core activity is illicit sex.
7. "Indian classical singing and dancing comes from Vedas especially Sam Veda." The entire basis of Sankara's demoniac mayavad is the veda especially the highest part of the veda i.e. the vedanta sutra. Thus, vedic singing and dancing should not be miss applied.
8. All women singing and dancing should be limited to mahila satsangs e.g. the ones we indians have in or before marriage ceremonies.
9. "this art only from Guru Sissya parampara" all vedic arts are only learnt from guru-sisya parampara e.g. black magic, ghost worship, human sacrifice, communication with the dead, so on and so forth. Just because there was a guru involved it is not at all bonafide. E.g. mayavad is also learnt from the guru sisya parampara of adi-sankara
10. "How can you say this is meant for prostitute" it is meant for Krishna's pleasure but it is used by iskcon-feminist supporters like Mrs. Vrinda Setha et al for their non vedic desires.

We must avoid making our mothers dance in public in front of male audiences. This is unchaste.
Women traditionally dance in mahila satsangs where men are not allowed entry. This is chaste.
Thus, in a 'women only' get-together our mothers are given the sheltered freedom to sing and dance for Krishna without having to worry about men.
We must further educate our daughters to refrain from supporting the ban on the book Women: Mothers or Masters.

Nataraja Das very heavy words
Manikar Das Brahmachari Guru means heavy. We can't help it. That is the opinion of the scriptures. It is beyond contestation.

Hanuman Das I don't see any fired up protests against feminism in ISKCON. Few senior Srila Prabhupada disciples, few second generation devotees, everybody else is as passive as Polar bear with full belly.
William G Benedict Lack of knowledge perhaps? Hard to read a book these days and hard to sit down and listen to every class that Srila Prabhupada gave.
Puṇḍarīka Vidyānidhi Dāsa Well, how do you counteract "chanting Hare Krishna is the important thing, everything else is detail"? Try talk to someone "educated" in modern day ISKCON.
Manikar Das Brahmachari Tell that person who says that to u to go in the street and do naked harinaam and then see if he repeats that "hare Krishna is the important thing everything else is a detail"
Clothes are a detail as well. They wear them.
Now, short saree or long saree...See More

Puṇḍarīka Vidyānidhi Dāsa Chanting in the streets? What are you talking about? What age do you live in? Now you will say "distribute books", right? It is not fashionable anymore. Mangalarati? Japa? Why when you can chant on counter? Talking to people about Krishna? Are yo insane:they will understand we are Hare Krishnas!

William G Benedict Lot's of sentimentality
Hanuman Das My system is not to look confused, rather to LEAVE the area. If 20 devotees would get up and leave the area and complained in writing to manager of the program, this would never repeat.
Manikar Das Brahmachari Puṇḍarīka Vidyānidhi Dāsa Our Jews, Muslims, Catholic, Mormon, cousins are so proud of what ever little they know but we who have the best Messiah, best scripture, best habits, we are are ashamed our of Lord, our Prabhupada, our books, our clothes. Ver...See More

Manikar Das Brahmachari BVPS 2009 speaking about Alachau: There are girls at university who are 25 years old that are still virgins. NEVER TOUCHED A BOY. And nobody thinks they are a weirdo. But that is not possible in your community, in your 5 acres. Why is that? Because you have made it like that.

Narottam Chandra Das I am not agree with the above statement. Dancing and singing in front of public is not only meant for prostitute. This is not a proper understanding. We have to understand Srila Prabhupada words according to situation. The classical singing and dancing is still very very respectful in India. High class girls and women performs in public stage and still they are getting full respect. Even national and international award. Classical singing and dancing is not a Bollywood singing and dancing. We should not compare like this. Indian classical singing and dancing comes from Vedas especially Sam Veda. And you can learn this art only from Guru Sissya parampara. How can you say this is meant for prostitute ???

Śyāmānanda Dāsa If it is done for getting "full respect in public" and "national and international awards" then it is not art prabhu.
"amanina mandena...." that is our philosophy right?
